Being a part of the fashion industry, we have a responsibility, now more than ever, to do our part and contribute to a greener planet. At Maire Lou, we are committed to learn, grow, and improve in every aspect of our business. For us, sustainability is an ongoing process that constantly needs to be improved.
Our commitment starts with our carefully selected premium materials that are ethically produced and manufactured by factories that believe in and share our commitment to sustainability. By designing high quality and timeless key pieces rather than following trends, we want to increase the longevity of our garments and reduce the impact on the environment.
Our packaging and hang tags are made out of 100% recycled materials, including our clothing labels that are made out of recycled polyester. Apart from that, we always strive to find low impact and new innovative materials for our designs. To create a responsible balance between production and consumption, we have decided to produce smaller product quantities. For us, it’s about quality over quantity.
Garments that are not eligible for resale are donated to local charities in Sweden. We never destroy or throw away unsold or faulty items.
Transport shall not place unnecessary or excessive burden on the environment. For us, this means to always strive to maximize the capacity for our transportation to avoid applying any additional pressures on the environment. In addition, we work with freight companies that have set policies and strategies for cleaner operations and climate protection.
While there’s still a lot of room for improvement for our company, we are fully committed to doing our part in contributing to a greener planet.
